Up very early. . .

Good morning, I got up very early this morning, at about 2:50am, must be the extra vitamins that I am taking, don't know.
Wanted to post my blog then, but could not find my modem, had it in my hand, did something else and then totally misplaced it.
So I am all ready for my spinning class this morning, spinning? No, no, no, not spinning yarn or cotton, pedaling a bike until the sweat is literally dripping on the floor, 45 minutes long!! We are a nice group of ladies exercising in the mornings, I really enjoy their company.
Tomorow, Thania, the owner of Wings Spinning and my Very very best friend, is hosting a duothlon, consisting of 4.4km running, half hour of spinning and then 2.2km of running again, this is to raise money for a local ladies netballteam. Megan and I are thinking of entering, depending on the weather, we are expecting some rain, then she will do the running and I will do the spinning part.
I took this picture this morning of this layout that I made a while ago, on Megan's first school dance;) I struggled a bit with the light, but it is ok, I hope? I printed the headings on the computer and this was my first attempt at doodling. . .
And the added bling is that real cheap blingies at the local craft shop:)
She is really growing up so quickly now, only 3 and a half years left at school:(
This weekend her friends will be visiting here at our home, I am really happy to have them all here.
I bought a little poem book a while ago, everything you ever wish to tell your daughter, but don't always have the words to describe. . .i chose this one to share with you:

Daughter. . .
If ever you need to talk,
to share a laugh,
a dream, a smile;
to be comforted
or reassured,
to be understood. . .

Remember,
my shoulder is there
for your head,
your secrets are safe
and my door
is always open.

Have a very nice day:)

A 'scraplift" gone wrong

I made this layout yesterday at a shop in Pretoria, I wanted to scraplift the layout from the owner, but in the end I took it home and just went crazy with the paint and stamps and added a bit of bling. These photos were taken in 2006, finally I made a page.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

You are a STAR!!

The cross country season has started, the first league was held yesterday in Brits, at a nearby resort. It has been a while since Megan ran in a competition, she was not quite sure what to expect. Junior boys and girls run together, it is a 4km route and it was quite a rough territory. This is at the start, the route gets explained to them.
The route was marked of on 2km, so they run it twice.

She did very well, here she is on her first lap.

And then the final lap, she ran in front of the girls the whole time, then a girl passed her, but she managed to pass her again and finally she made it to come in FIRST!! I am so proud of you Megan!!

It has been a busy week, my dad is in hospital for a back operation, but he is doing well and can expect to come home by the weekend.

Hope that everybody is doing well!!

A very sad day. . .

Our hearts go out to the families of the 9 mineworkers, who tragically lost their lives in a mining disaster that happened yesterday morning. May God keep you save and shelter you with His love.

Having a nice day

Good day, everybody!!

Hope that you all are well:)
It is quite chilly here, this morning and I suppose for this reason, nobody pitched for a Spinning class.
Everybody just stayed in bed I suppose. So girlies, you will have to make a plan for this afternoon. . .
I finished this layout this morning, the photo's are a few years old, 3, to be exact.
I used a blend of products here, a bit of Bo Bunny, American crafts, Bazzill Basics, just mixed it all together.
We are still enjoying the winter holiday though, tomorrow we are going ice-scating in Pretoria, will take some pictures.
But till then, enjoy a lovely day!!

A little saying for you:

Imagine all the people
living life in peace. You
may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us,
and the world will live
as one.

Pet Paradise

Hi you all,
Having a nice weekend? We are watching a bit of rugby, doing this and that. . .
I made these layouts a while back, of my two dogs, Lizzy, the lady and Grumpy the pikenese.

I like using Bo Bunny products and these stickersheets just worked very well. Lizzy is a real lady, so I enjoyed using all the pinks.

I also just love flowers a lot, like using them everywhere. Grumpy is a very lazy little dog, very nice taking pictures of him,for he is always in good position. . .

The journaling of the blue and orange layouts are in Afrikaans, some of you might not understand, but I am from South Africa, and Afrikaans is one of our official languages.

Currently, I am busy doing a very large frame for a customer, plenty of pictures of her daughter and her horse, will share soon. . .
Well, another weekend is almost gone, enjoy the rest of it. . .

Posted by PicasaTo my dogs: How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways... author unknown
1. I love thee agreeably - enough to let your stinky dog hide on the bed after a run through damp leaves, mud and slug infested gardens.
2. I love thee steadfastly - enough to devote a year to raising you from a wobbly speck into a strong healthy adult (who promptly attempts to seize control).
3. I love thee passionately - despite your repeated efforts to probe my ears, eyes and mouth with the same tongue you use for various other atrocities.
4. I love thee well - despite the amazing odors you produce.
5. I love thee deeply - though you use me as a napkin at every opportunity.
6. I love thee madly - despite the various bodily functions you have performed at inappropriate moments - in inappropriate places.
7. I love thee constantly - despite the dog "bladder curfew" I have lived by for many years.
8. I love thee truly - despite the "doggie land mines" hidden in the grass.
9. I love thee absolutely - because you never (well, hardly ever) hog the remote control.
10. I love thee gratefully - because you stay by my side (or on my side).
11. I love thee devotedly - more than clean carpeting, clothing, furniture, floors or walls.
12. I love thee bravely - enough to battle the indomitable flea and tick on your behalf.
13. I love thee monetarily - enough to put the vet's children through college.
14. I love thee openly - I will bear any embarrassment for your furry sake.
15. I love thee totally -more than free time, excess cash or a predictable life.
Enjoy

Busy

Ok, got this picture on the web. . . .made me think about myself. . .
Then I started with a BANG!!
Organised the fridge, groceries, even the spicerack is in alphabetical order;)
Last night, Megan helped me organise my SPINNING cd's, all in a case, all the music saved in I-Tunes.
I even typed some classes in advance, will add that to each cd.
Scrapbookroom, well, actually that is always in GOOOOD Shape, love to fiddle and organise there. . . .
Now, I am busy taking pictures of some of my scrapbooklayouts, so that I can share a bit more.
The only thing I really need to organise NOW, is my time . . .lot of work to be done there:)

Well, off I go, got a 90min spinning class to prepare for this afternoon !!
Enjoy your day:)

I am struggling

Hi you all,

I am really struggling to add my only, latest photo on my blog, between broken url's and corrupt files, I do not know anymore!!
Anyway, here I am, with a added photo and not a profile photo, does it really matter??
Been a bit busy today, washing, cleaning, picking up Megan all the not so nice thingies, except for picking up Megan, she has been visiting Margie on their farm again, and today, I feel, I want her back now, at least for this week. Then they can visit again.
Some of my friends and family will identify me with the following, pre-occupied mind, multi-tasking, unorganised, forgetfull, all those things that is perfectly the opposite of PERFECTIONIST!!!!
Yesterday, was a typical example of all of that, we went to Pilanesberg again. . . .
With all the picnic goodies included by Andre, of course and then the most important of all, my camera, Nikon D80, 500mm lense, on my lap, waiting for some pictures to take and as I pushed the Click button . . . . . . NO BATTERY!! I left it in the charger. Can you believe it?
But that is ME.
Today, is a new day and I am starting to get organised AGAIN, trying to get rid of all this bad habits of mine, keeping things together, not putting it down, but putting it AWAY!

But I guess, I am only Human. . . .

Enjoy your Day

Friends

We can actually call them the THREE MUSCETEERS, Megan, Fiela and Margie.
School is out and since then they have been visiting each other the whole time.
They took the top photos with their cellphones, Margie's brother helped with this, it was taken on Margie's farm.
They enjoy it there, very relaxing, they can play, shout, laugh and even climb trees. Bit different than in town.
These ones they took from Megan's camera. Megan and Fiela have been friends since primary school and have become very close.
They met Margie in High School and added her to their group.

This weekend there is rugby of course, the Springboks and the British Lions, third and final test. Tonight the girls will be going to Shireen's party, she is just having a little get together, probably misses all the friends. When Megan went to Paris, I actually realised then, how important the kids friends are to them. Megan really missed all of them.

We are planning to go to the Pilanesberg again. . . . . Have to get the lions on camera!! The kids will be joining us this time, so we will have a picnic there too.
For the past few weeks, I have been organising my scraproom, just taking stock of the stash that I collected over the past few years, it is a lot. Then, I digged out a quilled that I started 2 years ago! I really need to finish it, will take photo's of the unfinished product, hopefully pics of the finished product soon:)

When the girls come visit I like baking Choc Chip Muffins, they love it. This is my favourite recipe:

500ml Cake Flour
160ml Cacao
10ml Baking Powder
Pinch of salt
125ml Sugar
250ml Choc Chips
330ml Milk
80ml Sunflower Oil
2 Eggs
5ml Vanilla Essence

Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celcius. Put Muffincups in pan and spray with Spray&Cook.
Put dry ingredients together, put halve of the chips in mixture and add the rest and mix well.
Put mixture into the cups and rest of chips you put on top of unbaked muffins. Bake for 20-24 minutes.
Enjoy!!
